What do the Premier League results show?

Each row shows the home club, the final score and the away club. The most recent matches appear first, so the top of the list is always the latest round of games. Only league matches are included, which means FA Cup, EFL Cup and European results do not appear here.

As a result, you can see at a glance how the latest matchweek finished without searching through several pages.

What should I look for in a set of Premier League results?

Look past the winner. The margin of victory, the number of goals and whether a side kept a clean sheet all say more than a simple win or loss. For example, a 1-0 win and a 4-0 win give the same points, but they suggest different things about how the match went.

Also compare home and away results. Some clubs collect most of their points at home, while others travel well. As a result, a run of away results can tell you more about a club than the overall table position does.

Why can clubs have different numbers of results?

Clubs do not always play the same number of league games by a given date. Cup ties, European matches and postponed fixtures mean one club may have played fewer matches than another. Therefore, compare points per game rather than raw points when the played numbers differ.

How do I check one club’s results?

Open the club’s profile from our club pages, where you will find its recent results, upcoming fixtures and squad. This is quicker than scanning the full list, and it also shows the club’s position in the table. For a quick comparison of all clubs, the form table is the best place to start.

How do Premier League results link to the rest of the site?

Results are the raw material for almost everything else here. Because the table, the form table and the top scorers chart all come from the same matches, a new result updates them in turn. Meanwhile, our predictions pages compare each pick with the real score, so you can see how often we were right.

If you want to follow a story, start here, then move to the table to see what changed, and finish with the fixtures to see what comes next. In short, the results page is the first step in a short loop that repeats every matchweek.

How do the Premier League results affect the table?

Every result changes the standings. A win earns 3 points, a draw earns 1 and a defeat earns none, and the Premier League table updates after each match. Goal difference also moves with every score, which matters when clubs are level on points.

Therefore, a big win or a heavy defeat can change positions even when the points gap stays the same. Check the table after a busy matchweek to see what changed.

How can I use results to judge form?

One result tells you little, but a run of results shows a trend. Look at the last five matches for a club, and compare goals scored and conceded rather than only wins and defeats. Our Premier League form table does this for every club by ranking them on their last five league games.

Meanwhile, the Premier League predictions use recent results as one input, and our public record shows how those picks have turned out.

Where can I find more detail on each match?

This page shows the final scores. For goalscorers across the season, see the Premier League top scorers table, and for upcoming games, see the Premier League fixtures list.

For a single club, open its profile from our club pages, which show its own results, fixtures and squad. The Premier League hub brings it all together.

What is the difference between fixtures, results and live scores?

Fixtures are matches that have not been played yet, results are final scores of finished matches, and live scores show games in progress. Because of that, a match moves through three pages in a single day: it starts as a fixture, appears on the live scores page while it is played, and ends up on the results page.

For example, you can check the fixtures list on Friday for the weekend, follow the games on Saturday through live scores and then read the final scores afterwards. In short, each page answers a different question, and together they cover the whole matchday.

Where does the data come from?

The figures come from API-Football, a licensed football data provider. We do not edit the numbers by hand, and we do not estimate results. If something looks wrong, tell us through our about page and we will check it against the match reports.

This matters because accuracy is the point of a data page. Our editorial policy explains how we handle corrections and how often each feed updates.

How often does this page update?

The page updates automatically through the day, usually within about 10 minutes of new data arriving. We cache the feed briefly to keep the page fast and to stay within our data limits. As a result, a goal from a minute ago may not show straight away.

If the data feed is unavailable, the page shows the last saved version instead of an error, and it shows a clear message if no saved version exists.
